The Together They Were Stronger Film Premiered at UW Haring Center and Online on May 25th.


A big heartfelt thank you to all involved in this incredible film event that took place on May 25th at the UW Haring Center in Seattle, Washington.


With a wonderful discussion preceding and following the premiere of, Together They Were Stronger, we debuted this important film produced by Thriving Communities to over 300 participants (in-person and virtual) from across the U.S.


We are excited to keep the energy of this educational and inspirational film going.

About the Film-Together They Were Stronger

This short documentary celebrates the untold story of four women who mounted an all-out civil rights campaign to create a movement establishing the first-ever disability rights law in the United States, WA HB 90.



This accompanying event program shares biographies of the women and key players involved in the creation of the Education for All Act, along with questions that were posed to event panelists for discussion. Read the program:
